TO celebrate the Millennium, Elizabeth Aylmer of Hatherleigh Pottery is producing two items of commemoration which will combine the work of three local artists.

Hatherleigh artist Eileen Gold has made a drawing of the sculpture by Roger Dean of Exeter which stands at the entrance to Hatherleigh Market and features a group of farmers with sheep and a dog.

The drawing will appear on a plate and mug made by Elizabeth Aylmer and the items will carry a millennium inscription.

The individual craftsman-made products which are truly 'home grown' reflect the interests and way of life of the farming community of which these artists are part.

The unique nature of this pottery is likely to make them highly collectable.

The plates cost £12.50 and the mugs £8.50 — examples can be seen at the pottery and some stocks are available.
