Devon and Exeter senior three
South Zeal Utd 1
Colyton 4
ZEAL should have been at least two goals in the lead after a first half where they created some good chances but a mixture of near misses and some great saves by the Colyton keeper saw the two teams start the second half at 1-1.
Colyton took the lead after 30 minutes and Zeal equalising through Harley Cann just before half time.
Zeal re-organised at the start of the second half due to an injury to Lee Gilbert and could have taken the lead but again good chances were missed and the visitors' keeper made some good saves.
Colyton took the lead after 20 minutes of the second half when one of their strikers broke clear and finished well as Reg Wonnacott came out to narrow the angle.
Zeal now had to push forward for the equaliser which might have come had good crosses from Darren Gilbert and Harley Cann been converted.
As is normal when a team is chasing the game Colyton kept breaking and scored twice more as Zeal tried in vain to get back into the game.
Before the game kicked off there was a minute's silence to remember Ruth Hooper who died earlier in the week. Ruth had been involved with the South Zeal club for many years and will be missed by everyone.
l Next week South Zeal are at home to Sandford, kick off 2.15pm.
