A LIGHT hearted insight into the eating habits of 18th century England will be the focus of the June lecture of the Dartmoor Decorative and Fine Arts Society.

Jane Tapley, special events organiser at the Theatre Royal Bath and TV production consultant will give the talk, entitled 'From Soup to Syllabub'.

The lecture will be held in the Charter Hall on Wednesday June 27. Doors open for tea and coffee at 9.45am, with the lecture starting at 10.30am prompt.

Everyone is welcome. Tickets cost £6 on the door, which is refundable if you join the society.

A year's membership costs £45 or £85 for two, and provides a quarterly arts magazine and nine lectures on a diverse range of topics.
