HE was the original master of shock rock, treating audiences to a nightmare vision of monsters, snakes, psychotic nurses and even his own execution. Yes, welcome to the world of Alice Cooper, probably among the most lauded rock icons the world over. But this is not Alice himself ? it?s Britain?s only touring Alice tribute band, Alike Cooper who will be bringing their full show to The Wharf, Tavistock on Saturday December 8. This is not your average tribute act. There are no half measures, it?s a full-on theatrical rock experience, which includes a lot of blood, a psychotic nurse, a plugged in electric chair, a strait jacket and the numerous other props and costume changes which make an Alice Cooper performance so memorable, as well, of course, as faithful versions of some of the best songs in rock history. But what about the famous snake? Will it be making an appearance? A spokesperson for the act said: ?Unfortunately there is no snake in this show due to basic practicalities of health and safety.? ?Even the real Alice had problems with his stage snake as it regularly escaped and disappeared in hotels ? I don?t think Tavistock is ready for that sort of high drama yet.? Tickets are £10 advance and £12 on the night from the box office on 01822 611166.
