THE RNIB is appealing for volunteers to help with the time consuming emptying of the collection boxes.

It takes about two hours to empty four Sooty collection boxes, the income of which would pay for a youngster with sight loss to spend a day on one of the RNIB's vacation schemes trying new leisure activities and making new friends.

It takes around eight hours to empty 12 boxes. This would help the RNIB identify the right equipment and support for a blind or partially sighted child to get the most out of their schooling.

The charity urgently needs people with flexible time to help the the emptying of boxes in and around the Tavistock area.

Two hours can be given weekly or monthly, on the days that the volunteer chooses, giving them flexibility.

Volunteers can empty the boxes and bank the income or just concentrate on finding new homes for the boxes.

Access to a car is essential, mileage costs and out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
