FRIENDS of Princetown Pre-School group spent a busy Saturday morning cleaning cars to raise money for group funds last weekend. The sponsored car clean was carried out at Princetown Fire Station with the help of the village?s retained firefighters and a splendid total of £236.25 was raised for the group. The car clean was the first of several events planned to raise money to ensure the pre-school?s long term future. More dates to look out for in future include a sponsored skittles match and a tor challenge, in which it is hoped other pre-school groups in the area will take part. A local businessman is to sponsor a darts exhibition evening and one enthusiastic parent has even offered to take on a tandem skydive. A spokesperson for the pre-school said: ?Although pre-schools get government funding this does not always cover the running costs. This is what our fundraising efforts are all about at the moment. ?We are having an amazing response from local business people that we have already approached and Cllr Bob Williams is also being really supportive.? Anyone who would like to make a donation to Princetown Pre-School can ring Vennville House Residential Home on 01822 890557 to make a pledge.
