PLAYED on a heavy pitch and with a good size home crowd cheering them on, Winkleigh did not take long to score when a long-range effort skidded past Downs in the Northlew goal.
Well on top, Winkleigh went two up when again bad marking let Northlew down.
Northlew did have some of the play and put the Winkleigh defence under pressure, mainly from corners and free kicks.
In the second half, Winkleigh coasted through with two more goals as the pitch turned into a mudbath.
