THE Tamar passenger ferry, which transports foot passengers between Calstock, Ferry Farm at Bere Alston and Cotehele Quay, is due to start its summer service this Saturday.
The first ferry will leave Calstock at 11.30am, with the last ferry to or from Ferry Farm at 4.30pm and the last from Cotehele at 5.30pm. However, as the service is affected by tidal conditions on the Tamar, it is advisable to contact the ferry office on 01822 833331 for the exact timetable.
On Sunday the MV Gloria will leave Calstock at 12.30pm for Morwellham Quay, returning to Calstock at 5pm.
On Bank Holiday Monday, she will be running an all-inclusive guided river cruise to Weir Head, plus a tour of Morwellham Quay and trip on the train into the George and Charlotte Copper Mine ? booking is advisable.
The Gloria will run a regular service between Morwellham and Calstock throughout the summer, tidal conditions allowing. Some trips will be during the evening, allowing passengers to enjoy a cruise and supper at The Ship Inn at Morwellham.
