Britain's Heather Fell finished agonisingly close to the medals in fourth place at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup Final in Brazil.
Fell, who won silver at last year's World Cup Final, finished six seconds behind bronze medallist Leila Gyenesei of Hungary at the end of the combined run/shoot.
World Cup final results were gold, Donata Rimsaite (Lithuanian) 5548. silver, Yana Marques (Brazil) 5508 and bronze Leila Gyenesei (Hungary) 5492.
Heather Fell (GBR) was just behind the medalists on 5468. British team-mate Mhairi Spence came 12th at the event in Rio de Janeiro, with Katy Livingston finishing 21st.
Fell was 11th after the fencing, winning 12 of her 24 contests for 840 points, with Livingston and Spence earning 920 and 908 points respectively.
Fell clocked 2mins 16secs 39 for the 200m freestyle, the fifth fastest time in the pool for 1164 points.
Beijing 2008 Olympic Games silver medallist Fell dropped just 20 points from the maximum 1200 in the riding arena, Fell then produced the third fastest run/shoot with a time of 12mins 49secs to end the day in fourth.
