A FREE exhibition of some stunning wildlife photography is currently on show in the heart of Tavistock.

But Colin Sargent's photos are not on display in any gallery — they are taking pride of place at the new Snip 'n Snap pet grooming premises in Duke Street.

Colin said: 'It's ideal, it's right in the centre of Tavistock, you can't get a better location.'

The exhibition includes studies of a wide variety of wild animals, including birds, squirrels, foxes and badgers.

Wildlife photography is a hobby that has engrossed Colin for about eight years now — although with a full-time job he finds it difficult to devote as much time as he would like to his art.

'It's a challenge and it's very time consuming — it can take weeks and weeks to get a picture,' he said.

His first exhibition was held at the Wharf in Tavistock two years, to an enthusiastic reception that left Colin 'flabbergasted'.

Now he wants to encourage people to view his latest works at Snip n' Snap.

'People are welcome to come in and have a look, there's no charge,' he said.

In addition to Colin Sargent's wildlife studies, visitors can also view the work of portrait artist Jane Leitch who is sharing exhibition space in the foyer.
