A SIX week-old Italian Spinoni puppy snatched from a home in Callington last Thursday during a burglary has been returned ?safe and sound? to his family. Russo, a brown roan puppy, was stolen when thieves entered the home in St Germans Road between 2am and 6.45am. Owner Mrs Jen Spinks said: ?When he came home he was quite timid but his mum was very happy to have him back, she licked him all over and wouldn?t put him down ? I think she picked up the vibes from the house as we were all so frantic.? Mr and Mrs Spinks awoke on Friday morning to find thieves had entered the property through the conservatory window, but the four other puppies were still in the kitchen and electrical goods were not taken. Mrs Spinks placed reward posters around Callington and in local vets, which featured a picture of Russo and her contact details. Mrs Spinks said Russo was sold last Friday but when the buyer found out he had been stolen she took him into a vets in Callington. It is thought the woman paid £70 for the rare breed puppy, worth around £600. Mrs Spinks said she believes the burglars were confronted by Russo in the kitchen, where the puppies slept which may be why they only took him. ?I have four brown roan puppies and one orange and white roan puppy and if they looked inside the basket they would have most likely taken Lucca who is orange and white. ?I am so grateful for the support from everybody and for their help, they have all been incredible ? it is great to have him home safe and sound.? Mrs Spinks would like the woman who handed Russo back to her vets to contact her on 01579 383697 as she would like to say thank you for doing the right thing.
