A DENTIST at a West Devon practice is celebrating after achieving a top qualification.
Abbey Mead Dental Practice in Tavistock celebrated World Oral Health Day earlier this month by announcing the news that Dr John Patrick (Paddy) McVeigh has achieved the fellowship diploma of the Faculty of General Dental Practice, Royal College of Surgeons. The fellowship is the highest qualification the faculty can award.
Paddy McVeigh is one of a small number of dentists in the country to have become a fellow of the faculty.
He said: 'It was tough taking so many exams, but well worth the effort. The benefits can be seen daily through the satisfied smiles of our patients.
'The considerable financial investment as well as the time and effort were made possible by the tremendous support I have received from my patients, practice team and family. I couldn't have done it without them.'
Commenting on the exam success, partner Dr Ann Cummins said: 'Our team is very proud of Paddy. He has worked exceptionally hard and now has more qualifications on paper to support his excellent clinical skills. He really can give you the smile you always wanted.'
