CHILDREN at a West Devon primary school are celebrating a sporting boost, following a grant from a local organisation.

Horrabridge Community Primary School has received £280 from Horrabridge Cavaliers to fund the purchase of 40 running vests for the children at the school.

 They will be worn for the first time by the children from years 2 to year 6 when more than 30 children from the school take part in the Tavy 13 half marathon event at Tavistock this Sunday.

 Children have been running a mile a week in school up to a total distance of 12 miles and will complete the final 1.1 miles at the Tavy 13 event.
