U11s Ajax Cup
Tavistock Jets 5
Looe Juniors 3
JETS went through to the next round with a brilliant win over a tough side currently second in the division.
Jets started well; midfielder Martin Hughes getting a lot of space and making the most of it with two goals from well outside the area.
Looe came back with a goal, but Jets? defence of Harry Gray, Luke Dunne, Ben Pridham and Reuben Grice kept them at bay and soon Jets were flying high with a well taken goal by Jack Jessop. They went to half-time with a 3-1 lead.
The second half started with Looe attacking hard and they broke through to make it 3-2.
The game then went from end to end with the midfield of David Corrales, Martin Hughes, Alex Carter and Adam Burbidge working hard to break through. Nick Cribbett got on the end of a fine ball and scored. Looe got a goal back to make it 4-3.
Jets had to defend hard with fine saves from keeper Daniel Scott and outstanding tackling from Luke Dunne. Jets finished off Looe with captain Jessop getting his second of the day.
Man of the match: Luke Dunne.
Tavistock Jets U13s 2
Manstow U13s 3
JETS got off to a great start in this cup match with some slick passing and Ewan McCall firing in from long range to make it 1-0. Manstow became more effective as they fought hard to get themselves back into the game while Jets remained dangerous on the break. Richards shot wide after an accurate cross by Russell-Wilson.
Webber had to be on top of his game as Manstow attacked and an equaliser was prevented by Taylor clearing off the line.
With half-time approaching Coulston seized the opportunity provided by a hesitant Manstow defence to drive the ball home giving Jets a 2-0 lead.
From the start of the second half Jets looked complacent and Manstow began to dominate, control midfield and place increasing pressure on the defence.
Jets were saved from going behind by the crossbar, a great save by Webber and goal-line clearance by Kelly, but the inevitable happened and minutes before the end Manstow scored the winner. McCall had covered every blade of grass but to no avail as Jets had been outplayed on the day by a well organised side.
Man of the match and manager?s man of the match: Ewan McCall.
U14 Hermes ? cup

Tavistock Jets 6
THIS match went through extra time and on to penalties before being decided.
Jets opened well, skilfully moving the ball around but not really creating opportunities in front of goal. One run of passes ended with a long-range shot from the right wing by Goldsby-West floating over the keeper in to the net to put Jets in the lead.
Anthony eventually equalised and stifled many Jets moves with good defending.
Shortly after the second half started, a well placed ball from Campbell was cleverly knocked into the net by Scott. Jets then went to sleep and Anthony gained control of the midfield, equalising then taking the lead.
This awoke Jets, who increased their attacking stance and Waddle equalised.
The two halves of extra time produced no further goals, only increased tension.
The match was won by Jets in the penalty shoot out by 3 goals to 1, taking the final score to 6-4 and Jets through to the semi-final.
Man of the match: Alan Doidge.
