A 'CRACKING' weekend was had by all who participated in the Dartmoor Challenge last week in aid of Derriford Children's Cancer Service. Sixty-eight walkers of all ages took part in the two-day challenge, which saw two walks of 20 miles and 30 miles over Dartmoor. The 20-mile walk went from Princetown to Cadover Bridge, back to Princetown by minibus and then from Princetown to Ringmoor Cottage the following day. The 30-mile walk went from Princetown to Cornwood, back to Princetown by minibus and on Sunday walkers went from Princetown to the Burrator Inn. Steve Parker, organiser, said: 'It was a cracking event. Everyone completed the walks, which is the most important thing.' Mr Parker expressed thanks for the two minibuses provided for the event by First Great Western and the Explorer Scouts. Money raised from the weekend will be presented to the charity on June 14.
