WERE you a child of the swinging sixties?
Do you have fond memories of the Beatles, festivals, scooters and things that your mother really didn't need to know about?
This summer there is a chance to re-live those heady days in the grounds of Castle Drogo near Chagford.
Roger Euinton, the 'happening' organiser, will be recreating a day of love and peace.
'The swinging sixties is the theme for our annual fete,' says Roger who has even gone so far as to organise a special excursion train to bring people from London to the event.
'Themed fetes are very popular and the 'peace' train is all part of an exciting day out.'
Turnout on the day is expected to be high and Roger would like to hear from any traders specialising in sixties nostalgia who would like to take a trade stand.
Also, if anyone has any posters, clothing, vehicles or other sixties items that they would be willing to loan, Roger promises to take good care of them.
'We'd also like to hear from any singer/guitarists to play folk songs,' said Roger. 'Are there any Bob Dylans or Peter and Gordons out there?'
The date of the event is Saturday, June 24, and people are encouraged to start looking out their bell-bottoms, beads and bells ready for the occasion.
For further information about the day, Roger can be contacted on 01647 433306.
