A SIX-year-old girl was seriously injured following a collision between a bus and car on Mount Tavy Road in Tavistock on Monday afternoon. Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which occurred at 3.30pm outside Mount House School. The girl, who is believed to be a pupil of Tavistock Primary School, was taken to Derriford Hospital but later transferred to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. She was travelling as a rear seat passenger in a Peugeot 206 driven by a 32-year-old Princetown man. Her 29-year-old father from Chillaton was also in the vehicle and was treated for minor injuries. A woman passenger on the ?First? bus, which was carrying school children, also sustained minor injuries. As a result of the collision the road was closed for five hours. The bus had been travelling towards Princetown and the car had been going in the opposite direction when the accident occurred.
