A MAN who drove without insurance has been disqualified from driving for six months.
Brice Moore, 26, from Bannawell Street, Tavistock, was given six points on his licence for the offence.
As he already had six points on his licence for two previous speeding offences, he has been disqualified from driving.
The chef, who pleaded guilty, was stopped on Stuart Road, Plymouth, on December 3 last year and was found to be driving without insurance.
Mr Moore, who represented himself at Plymouth Magistrates Court, said he had moved house a number of times in the last few months so had not received notification that his insurance had expired.
He said: 'I don't want to make excuses. I was in the wrong, I didn't make sure I was covered.'
Mr Moore said that as he was a chef he often needed to drive for work to do outside catering.
Magistrates said that the offences were regarded as serious and Mr Moore was ordered to pay a £430 fine, £43 victim surcharge and £60 costs in addition to the points on his licence.
