WALKHAM Valley played their third game of the season against TACC Plymouth.
Batting first in a 20-over game, Walkham made a good free-hitting start on a firm wicket. A quick 30-run partnership by the opening batsmen Kevin Baxter and Andy Belt was followed by some excellent shots and quick running between the wickets by Nick Shutt and Ken Kay, scoring 12 and 25 respectively, which kept the scoring rate flowing.
Bowling tightened and kept the Walkham total to 98 for 5.
TACC went for runs quickly with some superb batting by Bremner and Palmer, whose partnership of 48 included two sixes and three fours, Bremner being caught by an excellent one-handed catch by Tim Baxter.
Tight medium-paced bowling by Shutt restricted the scoring rate for four to five overs, then Head and Salt soon reached the runs required.
