AN ESTIMATED crowd of 6,000 gathered at Callington Community College to witness the annual town fireworks display, sponsored by Ginsters, on Saturday evening.

A sunny day and a dry evening allowed Celebration Pyrotechnics to produce one of their best displays ever.

Pirate FM Radio were on site, and with help from Callington portreeve and mayor Karen Gold started the countdown. All agreed the display was one of the best in the whole of Cornwall.

Thanks have been expressed to Ginsters and to all the local organisations that worked together to produce this wonderful community event, including town councillors, the police, St John Ambulance, the fire service, Rotary Club, Lions Club and staff from the college.

Proceeds from the voluntary donations will be given to Children's Hospice South West and the Cots for Tots Appeal at Bristol Hospital.
