THE Halwill Flower and Produce Show was a smashing success, with a high number of quality entries in Saturday's show.

Classes included entries for flowers, fruit, vegetables, flower arranging, cookery and handicrafts. Val Drowne claimed the Dennis Hunt Novice Shield and Top Vase prizes for her flower arrangements.

The Ley family also had a successful day, with Rachel and Clare Ley joint first in the children's section, with Jamie Ley taking third place.

Clare impressed with her miniature garden while judges enjoyed Rachel's tasty chocolate rice crispie cakes. Jamie's drawing of a tractor earned him third place.
