WORK by the artist dubbed 'Chagford's Widgery' will be on show in the town's Jubilee Hall later this month.
William Snell Morrish (1844-1917) was a prolific artist, who lived all his life on the edge of Dartmoor, his paintings , largely of the moor, have found great popularity to this day.
On Saturday, June 23 in the Jubilee Hall, Chagford, the Dartmoor Society is presenting the first ever exhibition of his work — with some by members of his family as well — drawing on private collections to display about 50 paintings.
The exhibition will be open from 10 30am to 4 30pm, and biographical and topographical information will be available.
