THE ladies of Yelverton Golf Club played their April medal competition recently. Winner of the silver division was Shirley Trevena, net 74; runner-up was Belinda McSherry, net 76, and third was Kay Creaven with net 79.

The bronze division was won by Lilias Strachan , net 75; runner-up was Trudi Luke, net 75, third Julie Percy net 77.

In glorious sunshine last Thursday the ladies entered the NSPCC?s national four ball better ball competition. Winners were Alison Measelle and Gilly Jarvis with an excellent 40 points and runners-up were Maud Toy and Anne Ashley with 37 points.

The winners will go through to the regional finals to be played at Okehampton later this year.

On Friday, the senior ladies played at home against the senior ladies from Staddon Heights Golf Club, a match played in a friendly atmosphere. The local team took the home advantage winning four matches and halving the other two.
