A TOTAL of £1,750 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Care, thanks to the charity auction of lambs at Tavistock Market last month. Local farmers contributed to the sale on Tuesday, November 20, which saw 41 lambs sold and raising £1,400. Further donations from farmers bumped the total upto £1,750. The idea of an auction raising money for the cancer charity was suggested by Barry and Linda Landick on behalf of their friends Alan and Christine Viggers from Tavistock. Mrs Landick expressed thanks to auctioneers Ward and Chowen for taking on the suggestion of the charity auction, and to everyone that donated to the worthy cause. The cheque was presented to Macmillan nurse Lillian Chapman last Monday at the livestock centre.
