UNWANTED Christmas presents are being sought by the Tavistock Lions Club for its 'Share a Gift' stall at the Farmers' Market in Bedford Square on Saturday, January 10.
Anyone who received an unwanted DVD or knitted pullover can bring them down the stall and help raise money for charity.
The Lions Club organised a similar sale of gifts in January 2005, when almost £1,500 was raised for the people of South Asia who had suffered in the Christmas tsunami.
This time the club has chosen the Anthony Nolan Trust to be the main recipient, a charity established by Shirley Nolan, Anthony's mother, in 1974 to help locate suitable bone marrow and stem cell donors for people such as those suffering from leukaemia and for those whose immune system needs a boost.
The stall, manned by members of the Tavistock Lions Club, will be open in the Farmers' Market from 9am to 2pm and those donating gifts are asked to drop them off at the stall before 10am on the day or anytime before that day at Fairway Furniture in Tavistock, or call Lion Janet Nowell on 01822 612560 if you wish the club to collect.
