TAVISTOCK Golf Club?s James Ruth had to settle for a share of ninth place in last week?s Carris Trophy held on the links of Burnham and Berrow in Somerset.
His first round 70 put him in sixth place, and three shots behind the leader.It was more difficult on the second, but his 74 pushed him up the leader board into fourth. James failed to improve his position in the last two rounds with scores of 73 and 76.
Tavistock Golf Club?s juniors scored an excellent 2-1 victory over Trethorne, and the hard work from all concerned over the last two years or so is paying dividends. The team was Mike White, Joe Raeburn, Adam Waddle, Sam Webster, Chris Gawman and Dan Lowe.
In the W G Westlake stableford, Sam Turners 44 points secured the win by four points, ahead of Tom Honey.
