Do you want to be active — can you provide an opportunity for people to be physically active in the community, or do you have a facility which could provide these opportunities? Anyone who can say 'Yes' to the above is being asked to bring their ideas, experience, and solutions to a 5X30 network event being held in West Devon this month. The day aims to help residents in the borough become more active by providing information on the available 5X30 grants, and giving people the opportunity to meet other activity providers, facilities, organisations and individuals to talk about improving local provision. The event will be held on Tuesday March 18 between 6pm and 9pm at Tavistock College. Anyone attending the event can become part of the 5X30 Network, which currently has a membership list of 196 people from 149 groupss in Mid and West Devon. This year there will also be the chance for members to attend a follow-up 'clinic' which aims to help get the activity ideas identified at the event up and running in the community with 5X30 support. Five events have already been held in the Mid and West Devon area. One attendee said: 'It was a fantastic network evening. I found it very interesting and inspiring, made lots of contacts and it was great to meet the 5X30 team.' Anyone who would like to attend the event or has any questions about 5X30, please call Louise Maddocks, project assistant, on 01884 234390, or email [email protected]">[email protected]
