POLICE are reminding people to be vigilant after several thefts took place recently in the local area.

• A steel gate was lifted off its hinges at a farm in Meavy and access was gained to a barn where an orange post rammer worth £2,500 was stolen. The theft took place between 9am on October 1 and 4pm on October 9. Information can be forwarded to the police by calling 101, quoting CR/93632/18.

• A box trailer containing a large number of gazebos was stolen from Tavistock Livestock Centre on Whitchurch Road overnight on Thursday to Friday last week. The thieves gained access to the site by cutting a padlock on the gate. The theft took place sometime between 5.30pm on Thursday, October 11 and 7am on Friday, October 12, CR/94299/18.

• Two pet rabbits were stolen from a secure hutch in the garden of a house on Upcott Hill, Okehampton between noon on October 6 and 1.30pm on October 7. CR/92937/18.

• A van parked on Oke Tor Road, Okehampton, was broken into and a number of power tools were stolen within a 24 hour period from September 15 at midnight. CR/93401/18.

• A black and green pit motorbike was stolen from a back garden in Wadlands Meadow, Okehampton, between 8pm on October 9 and 4pm on October 10. CR/93781/18.

• Entry was gained to a garage beside a property in Broadwoodkelly, where a grey and orange chainsaw and hedge trimmer worth hundreds of pounds were stolen. The thefts took place between 9am on October 5 and 11pm on October 11. CR/94240/18.
