YELVERTON 1st XI made it seven wins out of eight with a comprehensive 88 run victory at Exeter Civil Service and remain at the top of the table. Skipper Rob Guy lost his fourth consecutive toss and once again Yelverton were asked to bat first on a wet wicket.   Runs were hard to come by with the home team obtaining prodigious swing and seam movement before opener Degg was unfortunate to be run out following a throw from the boundary edge.   Bennett (54) joined Farnham (29) and the pair constructed a patient 57-run partnership for the second wicket before Farnham edged to first slip.   There were useful contributions from Khan (12), Stephens (13), Stokes (10) and Harrison (18 not out) as Yelverton were bowled out for 178 in the last over.   The pick of the Exeter bowlers were Calderhead (5- 49) and Caryl (2-52). Exeter started poorly, losing four quick wickets and from then on it never looked like they could get close to the Yelverton total.   It was only the veteran Caryl (38) who showed any sort of resistance and the home team were skittled out for 90.   The main wicket takers were Stephens (3-14), Guy (3- 14) and Shrivastav (2-22).   Man of the match: Rob Bennet. Yelverton 19 points, Exeter 5 points. This Saturday, Woodbury, home.
