WEST Devon folk-rock musician Seth Lakeman will be receiving an honorary fellowship this Saturday. Seth, from Yelverton, is to receive the award at the Dartington College of Arts graduation ceremony. As Seth?s music is mostly inspired by Devon and Dartmoor, the college is awarding the fellowship to him in recognition of his cultural work of distinction, and to celebrate a South West-based artist of growing national standing. Adrian Bossey, director of Creative Enterprise at Dartington, said Seth is a talented artist who had proved that artists can have a successful music career and remain in Devon. He said: ?We are aware of his position as a fantastic musician who has created a career for himself without moving to London or LA. We are awarding him for his great musicianship and talent.? The centre for Creative Enterprise and Participation, in partnership with the Dartington Plus project, hopes to work with Seth in the area of regional music development. Last month, Seth finished his ?Poor Man?s Heaven? tour in London, and soon after released his new EP ?Poor Man?s Heaven?.
