THE 2010 Christmas dinner for the older folk of the Princetown area was again a roaring success, with the Plume of Feathers' function room packed and three police officers waiting upon the diners, with the help of the Plume's staff.

Each year the High Moorland WI organises the dinner, which is supported by their delicious cakes and tea at functions through the year, plus contributions from monies raised by, among others, the village community fund.

This means that the senior citizens get a free lunch, as a mark of respect from their community.
