I AM looking for relatives of one Thomas Allen who was born in 1853, I think in Tavistock.
He married Jessie Metters in 1862 and they lived in or about West Street.
In 1880 Thomas was drowned in the Creber copper mine. Jessie was left widowed with one daughter ? Jessie, named after her mother. She was then ten months old.
In 1888 Jessie married again, this time to David Hole. They lived at 2 Bannawell Street, Tavistock. They also had a daughter, Maud, who was my grandmother.
I have in my possession a photo of Jessie the daughter. I would like to find a photo of my great grandmum Jessie One. Jessie?s daughter by Thomas Allen grew up to marry William John Seldon.
