THE Belstone Friends' of Children's Hospice South West's latest fundraising event takes place on Sunday May 18, when fifteen homes in the lane known as Skaigh Lane will be opening their gardens to the public. The project, called the 'Secret Gardens of Skaigh', offers a variety of sizes and types of garden – all of which have stunning views of Dartmoor. The gardens will be open from 11am to 5pm and entry is by programme which costs £3 (children free) and covers all the gardens. Ploughman's lunches, cakes, hot and cold drinks will be on sale throughout the day at Stonelynk, courtesy of Sandra and John Moppett. Children's Hospice South West provides a vital service for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Its work relies almost entirely on the generosity of people in the South West.
