P&D Comb Premier League

Tavistock 6

Vospers 0

WITH the Lambs already relegated, the pressure was off them and they turned in a vintage performance against a Vospers side who were looking for three points to stave off relegation.

It was fairly even for the first 25 minutes with the visitors? keeper Ian Evans having to claw away a long punt upfield by his opposite number Craig Howells.

The Lambs? Craig Hodge supplied a pass for Richard Searle to let in Richard Hoskin to slot home.

Hodge and Hoskin combined ten minutes later for Dan Follett to curl his shot with the outside of his boot into the top corner.

Hoskin then saw Evans tip his drive onto the crossbar and Howells had to be on his toes as Fitzsimmons headed back to him at height and the keeper had no option but to head it away before Hodge hit an upright on 70 minutes. Hoskin followed up to hit the other upright. The ball was not cleared and sheer persistence from Hodge saw him rob the keeper and send the ball over a defender to give the Lambs a three-goal cushion.

A minute later, sub Trebilcock ran at the Vospers defence and sliced through them like butter to rifle in an unstoppable shot.

Hoskin and Hodge combined again but this time made a hash of it before Trebilcock cut in from out wide to get his second.

Hodge made it six when he was first to a through ball, ahead of the keeper to slot into an empty net.

If the Lambs could have produced more performances like that throughout the season then relegation would not have been an issue.
