Tavistock Mens Hockey A 1
Plymouth Marjons C 3
STRUGGLING with numerous injuries, especially in defence, Tavistock started this home game with only ten men.
Plymouth were attacking from the start and put Tavistock under great pressure.
Having the rejuvenated Neil Bradley in goal and the ever effective Lethbridge back in their rightful positions assisted in holding the visitors at bay.
Always suffering from that man down paid in the end and Plymouth scored two quick short corner goals, which were both from flicks.
The second half saw the home side up to full strength and this made a major difference and balanced the game accordingly.
Tavistock were able to really play their linking game and started to cut through the visitors with good networking by Aveyard, Kelly, Stanbury and Honey.
The visitors scored an opportune goal but continued to struggle with the increasing confidence of Tavistock.
With a few missed opportunities going begging, Tavistock finally scored with a fine run by Stanbury, who hammered the ball into the net.
Tavistock maintained the pressure and were unlucky not to score again but can take confidence from the performance.
Next week is the first league home game at 4.30pm.
