A WEST Devon primary school has added another accolade to its growing list after being awarded the Investors in People standard for the second time by the Learning and Skills Council.
St Andrews School at Buckland Monachorum already has the Sport England Active Goldmark, an Artsmark Gold award, Eco-schools award, and the DfES award for excellence.
Now a long-standing commitment to staff training and development and to the all-round development of children at the school has paid off with the re-recognition as an Investor in People.
Bill Houldsworth, headteacher at St Andrews, said: 'We are delighted to be recognised as an investor for the second time. We are extremely proud of what has been accomplished here at St Andrews.
'Through the programme, we have introduced key frameworks and processes to meet the needs of our staff and introduce best practices.
'This has provided them with the confidence needed to excel in their own roles and helps our pupils reach their potential.'
St Andrews opened in 1975 and has 210 pupils between the ages of four and eleven, with 24 members of staff.
Ofsted reports of the school have consistently praised the positive learning environment at the school.
