GUNNISLAKE Football Club held it's annual end of season presentation evening. The White Hart, Launceston was again the venue for a successful and well attended evening that was excellently organised by Tracy Kelly and supported by Dean Martin.
The club's first team finished fifth in the Duchy Premier league and the reserves, after two promotions in two years, secured a mid table position in the third division.
A club side won the Launceston Cup with a one nil extra time victory. The winning goal in the final was scored by Jarryd Kelly, who once again claimed the first team's leading scorer trophy with a season's 40 goals.
Dale White got the managers trophy for the first team and Stef Kelly received the players player award.
The reserve team's leading scorer trophy went to Jason Ridgemont, who scored more than 20 goals, and he also received the players' player award for the reserves.
The manager's trophy for the reserves went to veteran defender Mark Southcott.
The final two awards went to Mark Warwick (clubman) and a special trophy to Nathan May who, at just 27 years of age, was forced during the last campaign to retire from playing due to a leg injury.
Michael Kinger, the club's secretary, won the Duchy league secretary of the year award that was presented to him at the league's annual meeting.
This award is highly deserved for Michael who has been doing a sterling job for the club for a number of years in what is a demanding role.
Training has begun for the new season and is being held each week on a Tuesday evening from 6.30pm at Gunnislake playing fields.
Anyone interested in attending please feel free to come along.
If you want to speak to someone about this you can call Mark on 01822 834794.
