OPM 6

AS this was the last league game of the season, Tavistock were keen to start well. Good early pressure allowed Nick Andrews to score the opening goal for Tavistock. However, they were not able to hold this lead for long as some careless tackling in the D lead to OPM being rewarded a penalty flick.

Tavistock responded well. Strong work in the middle from Greg Curno set Tom Ball on his way into the D to feed Andrews for his second of the match and the score to 2-1.

The home side were able to sustain this lead through to the break thanks to some excellent work at the back from Mark Tosdevin, Martyn Glanville, Paul Mason and Martin Osborne.

As the second half got underway Chris Cowie played Dave Richards good ball to allow him to show his pace yet again set up 'goal machine' Andrews for his hat-trick. Taking the score to 3-1.

However, the lead was short lived, as two quick goals saw OPM draw level.

Tavistock's disorganisation lead to OPM taking the lead for the first time and they conceded another two goals soon after to make it to 3-5 to OPM.

Tavistock continued to work hard as they have done all season, good link up play between Lawrence Dubey, Tom Ball and Sam North saw Ball burst into the D and shoot. Although the initial shot was stopped it was not enough as Andrews was able to sneak the ball in after a couple of attempts.

Towards the end, Tavistock were very unfortunate to concede again. Although Tavistock lost, it was not enough to upset what has been an excellent season for the side.
