Seaton Town . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .2

Okehampton Argyle 2nds . . . . .0

OKEHAMPTON had to travel their furthest fixture on the opening day of the season.

Seaton could not have wished for a better start with their striker disposing Steve Ausden straight from the kick-off.

He played the ball out wide and from the resulting cross in the ball was only cleared to the edge of the box where the home striker thundered home an unstoppable shot past Sean Sandercock.

Okehampton then took total control of the match out passing and out-playing the home side but with out creating any clear cut scoring chances.

The referee started to book players for trivial incidents and the inconsistencies started to upset players from both sides.

Second half saw Okes dominate once again with good efforts against the post and bar.

But it was Seaton who scored a second against the run of play with the ball taking a vicious swerve which beat Sandercock from twenty yards who had been a spectator for most of the match.

Chris Wills had a fine debut along side Steve Ausden and Tom Reilly and Lee Gilbert who had looked very strong all afternoon.

Tom Reilly was sent off for a clumsy tackle after having already been yellow carded with a total of seven bookings in what was a fairly placid affair.
