WE have received a request from the family of an American who was stationed in Tavistock in world war two and was billeted with a local family for two years.
His family would like to make contact with them if at all possible.
Can you help?: The family they are trying to contact were called Beer and lived in Tavistock in 1942-1944. They had billeted with them an American: Major Stewart of the 29th Division, stationed in the divisional headquarters.
All the information that they have is that at that time the Beers? young daughter had an accident and lost an eye.
