THE West Devon village of Peter Tavy is to be the subject of a new book published by Halsgrove.

The publishers have already produced several village books as part of their community history series.

Roger Meyrick, of Peter Tavy Heritage Group, said: 'Last year a lot of old photographs were shown during the flower show, which has stimulated interest in the story of this very old village, with roots in pre-history.

'We would like to ask anyone with knowledge of the village, particularly if they have old pictures, cuttings, memories or artefacts, to contact me.'

Mr Meyrick said other links with the village, such as tools used on farms or mines, original sheep bells, rent books, letters or billheads from shops are also being sought.
