Western Mortgage Services 1

Ordulph Arms 2

GOALKEEPER Sean Moloney was the Ordulph saviour by saving a penalty in the dying moments to earn a valuable victory to guarantee his team second place and promotion after a fantastic run of form in recent weeks.

The visitors were made to battle to the final whistle against Western Mortgage Services, whose own promotion challenge took a huge dent after this match. Ordulph took a while to get into the match, and had to cope well with a bobbly pitch and Western's physical approach. Neither side really created any clear cut openings but James Aggis came closest to scoring in the first half as his header from a corner rebounded straight off the crossbar.

Ordulph seemed to come out a stronger side in the second half and were soon one up as Paul Cowling outpaced the Western defender and calmly rounded the keeper to slide home and put Ordulph in front.

The lead lasted only a matter of minutes as Western were rewarded for their hard work and leveled from close range.

Both sides were restricted to half chances, and a draw looked certain until James Aggis prodded home from close range on his second attempt after the keeper made a fine save. Ordulph looked to see out the game, but Western were awarded a penalty after Nicky John fouled a Western forward. However, Sean Moloney was the hero, saving down to his left to keep out the strike.
