MEMBERS of the 1st Okehampton Scout Group will be taking part in the Giant Sleepover - a world-record breaking attempt involving youngsters across the UK.
The youngsters will be raising funds for their new scout hut when they spend the night of June 19 taking part in the sleepover, along with 20,000 children across the UK.
They will participate in an evening of fun packed entertainment, including songs, games and a midnight feast.
Group scout leader Robbie Owers said: ?This is an amazing new event and we are delighted to be involved. In addition to raising funds for our new hut, the Giant Sleepover will be a memorable night for all of our members and they may even help establish a new world record.?
The Giant Sleepover will involve simultaneous sleepovers taking place in 500 schools, scout, guide and youth groups throughout the UK. Children will spend the night sleeping over with their friends and raising money for their own funds.
The event is supported by Sainsbury?s Blue Parrot Café, Tomy?s Rummikub game, Dairy Crest?s Lil Moos organic cheese, Aerobeds, Top Trumps, Roald Dahl games and Capri Sun.
