THE aroma of warm scones will fill the air at Cotehele Mill this weekend (June 28 and 29) during Sconanza — a festival celebrating the mill's own flour. Visitors to the National Trust mill will be able to sample the scones made using flour ground at the mill and baked in the demonstration oven. During Sconanza people will be able to try homemade strawberry jam, have a go at making butter and follow a scone themed quiz too. Other highlights include 19th century artisan workshops, Barry Mays in his woodworking workshop making 'Wild Chairs' and other wooden crafts on Saturday. On Sunday pop in to watch resident potter Zane Hazeldine at work. Cotehele Mill is open daily from 11am to 4.30pm.
