STUDENTS at Callington Community College shone in an internationally renowned chemistry competition and were recently shown recognition for their efforts.
Seven students from the college attempted the 47th annual Chemistry Olympiad, organised by INEOS and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
This challenge is aimed at high achieving students and this was the first year that students from Callington had entered — at their own request — in an effort to judge themselves against the very best.
Last week the college received the results of the entry and was delighted to hear that all students had received a certificate recognising their efforts in the competition and that two of the students, Jessica Hawkins and Lawrence Clarkson, had achieved the prestigious bronze level award.
The other students were Jake Barker, Yve Taylor, Kerry Preece, Jenna Buxton and Ellie Gosney.
• The students are pictured left with their certificates, principal Sean Morris and head of chemistry Dr Peter Maunder.
