CHILDREN have taken part in a competition to create a Christmas card that links to life in Tanzania.
Pupils from Boasley Cross, Broadwoodwidger and Highampton primary schools were asked to think about the hundreds of children of similar age in Tanzania, who live without clean drinking water.
The competition followed talks given in the schools by Bratton Clovelly-based Devon Aid Korowe, DAK, which aims to provide clean drinking water within the district of Korogwe, Tanga.
All the children's entries were spectacular with first prize going to Evie Woods, of Boasley Cross, following closely with the second prize to Charlotte Hughes, of Lew Trenchard and third prize to Freya Andrew, of Highhampton, who will all get to spend an afternoon at Trethorne Leisure Park.
Lydia Tomkinson, Saffron Wright and Charlotte Tayton, all from Boasley Cross Primary presented DAK with £60.52 they raised by selling cakes on a stall. Both Highampton and Broadwoodwidger schools donated the takings of their harvest festivals to DAK.
