DEVON County Engineer Mr Paul Marshall has seen his name in the papers on numerous occasions in recent weeks.

Much of the press he has received has been negative. We would like to redress the balance and thank him for his part in resolving a situation that has caused us some concern.

Vehicles have been mounting the pavement near the entrance to our school on Whitchurch Road, damaging the kerb and posing a danger to pedestrians, particularly parents and children en route to school.

Following a meeting between the school and Nigel Bishop, the road safety officer for the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary, Paul Marshall was contacted and a bollard was erected at the site very quickly.

This is very much appreciated by everyone at the school. Our thanks to all concerned.
