THE children and staff at Princetown Primary School had a real treat last week, when they had the chance to rup shoulders with one of England's top sportsmen.

Ex-England cricketer Marcus Trescothick joined the school for lunch last Thursday, while en route to Plymouth on day three of his sponsored 'Bangers Big Bike Ride.'

Money raised by the ride is for Children's Hospice South West.

Ali Hurst, headteacher at Princetown, said: 'The children were thrilled as he jumped off his bike and straight into a game of quick cricket with them.  They were all very keen to 'seize the day' and pick up some top cricketing tips from the former opening batsman!'
