CHILDREN, staff and parents all joined in Chagford Primary School?s Variety Show last Friday to mark the retirement of the chairman of the PTA.

Around 100 children from years 1-6 were involved in the show, organised by the PTA. Phil Fowler is stepping down as chairman after six years. The show also acted as a showcase for the new school brass band, orchestra and choir, showing how much they had achieved in a year.

Headteacher Chris Long said the show was the second they had put on. Last year?s had been so successful they had decided to put on another this year, and next year?s would be even better. He said it also gave the children the chance to show skills not necessarily demonstrated in school work and helped build their confidence, performing in front of 300 people.
