ST Andrew's Primary School at Buckland Monachorum is proving it has a real flare for the arts after achieving an Artsmark Gold award for the second time.
The Arts Council England's Artsmark award recognises schools that demonstrate a commitment to providing opportunities across all art forms from drama to music, design to literature and dance to sculpture.
The scheme also encourages schools to work in partnership with artists and arts organisations and St Andrew's is one of only a few schools which has been awarded gold twice.
Headteacher Bill Houldsworth said: 'I am delighted that the arts council has recognised our school's progressive, well balanced arts education programme for the second time, which enables pupils to work with local artists. There is a huge amount of arts activity going on here.'
Arts Council England chairman Sir Christopher Frayling added: 'Every young person should have a basic entitlement to participate in and experience the arts.
'The schools receiving the Artsmark this week display a commitment to proving young people with a wide range of arts activities that we believe all schools should strive for.'
